City of Las Vegas Locksmith License #P64-00012

If your keys are locked inside your car in Las Vegas, call and a mobile technician will drive to the exact spot where the vehicle is parked. We are open 24/7, and a technician usually arrives in 20 to 30 minutes in most of the valley, whether you are in a casino garage, an apartment complex or a grocery store lot. Most vehicles open within a few minutes using professional entry tools, with no damage to the door, the paint or the wiring inside.

A lockout is sometimes the first sign of a bigger key problem, especially when the key is lost, broken or the remote has stopped working. In that case we can cut and program a replacement key on site, and our automotive locksmith page explains that work in more detail.

  • Open around the clockLockouts happen in the middle of the night as often as they happen at noon, so a real person answers the phone 24/7.
  • We come to the carThe service van drives to the garage, parking lot or street where your vehicle is sitting, so nothing needs to be towed.
  • Price before workYou hear the price before any work starts, so the amount you agreed to on the phone is the amount you pay at the end.
  • Licensed and insuredWe hold City of Las Vegas Locksmith License #P64-00012 and are licensed, bonded and insured for every vehicle we open.

What Makes a Las Vegas Car Lockout Different

Opening a locked car is basically the same job in every city, but the setting in Las Vegas changes how we reach you and how quickly the situation becomes urgent.

  • Desert heatA closed car sitting in the Las Vegas summer sun can get hot enough to seriously harm a child or a pet within minutes. If anyone is locked inside the vehicle, call 911 first and then call us.
  • Big parking garagesCasino and hotel garages have many levels that all look alike, so tell us the garage name, the level and a nearby sign or elevator so the technician can walk straight to your vehicle instead of searching every floor.
  • Visitors and rental carsMany of the people locked out here are visiting for a few days and driving a rental car. We open rentals too, and the rental agreement helps show that the vehicle is legally in your care.
  • Push to start carsSome push to start vehicles will still lock themselves with the smart fob sitting inside, even though they are designed to prevent it. A locked car with the fob visible on the seat is a common call, and we open it the same way as any other lockout.
  • Late hoursLas Vegas runs all night, so a large share of our vehicle calls come in well after midnight. Nights, weekends and holidays usually cost a little more than a weekday afternoon.

Car Lockout Calls We Get in Las Vegas

These are the vehicle lockout calls that come in most often, and each one needs a slightly different approach.

  • "My keys are sitting on the seat and every door is locked."This is the most common lockout we see, and it is usually the quickest to solve, since we open the door with soft wedges and long reach tools and you have your keys back within a few minutes.
  • "I put the keys in the trunk and shut it."On many vehicles the trunk releases once a door is open, either with an interior button or the rear seat release. If that option is not available, we open the trunk lock directly.
  • "I parked at the airport and can't find my key."When the key is truly gone, opening the door is only half the job, because you still need a way to start the engine. We open the vehicle and then cut and program a new key right there in the parking lot.
  • "The fob is dead and the door won't open."Most remotes hide a metal emergency key inside for exactly this reason. If the door has no visible keyhole or the key will not turn, we open the vehicle and help you replace the battery or the fob.

How a Car Lockout Call Goes

  1. 1

    You call

Tell us where the vehicle is parked, its make, model and year, and whether anyone is still inside. If a child or pet is locked in during the summer heat, call 911 before you call us.

  2. 2

    You hear the price

We give you the price on the phone before a technician drives out, and nothing is added after the work begins unless you approve it.

  3. 3

    We check ID

We ask for identification and proof of ownership, such as the vehicle registration or the rental agreement. This simple step keeps strangers from getting into cars that do not belong to them.

  4. 4

    We open the car

The technician opens the door with professional entry tools and then checks that the locks, handles and windows still operate normally.

Questions We Get Asked

How do locksmiths open a car without a key?

Most use specialized tools like air wedges and long reach tools to reach the inside handle or unlock button, or they pick the door lock. These methods open the car without damage when a trained technician does the work. Drilling is rarely needed for a car lockout.

Should I try to unlock my car myself with a coat hanger?

It is not a good idea on most modern cars. Coat hangers can scratch paint, tear weather stripping and damage wiring inside the door, and newer cars often have shields that block those tricks anyway. A locksmith is usually faster and saves you a repair bill.

What if my keys are lost and not just locked inside?

Then you need a new key, not just entry, so a locksmith can open the car, cut a new key and program it to the vehicle. You will need ID and proof of ownership. Read lost car keys with no spare for what to expect.

Do you handle vehicle lockouts across the Las Vegas valley?

Yes. Our mobile service is open 24/7 and comes to you across Las Vegas, Henderson, Enterprise and the nearby areas. You hear the price before any work starts, and it depends on the vehicle, where it is parked and the time of day.
